Phoenix Rising Counseling Services [PRCS] is dedicated to helping individuals, couples, and families navigate life’s
challenges with compassion, clarity, and hope.
We provide a safe, supportive space where real change is possible.
People often come to PRCS when they are at a crossroads — unsure where to turn, hesitant to trust the process, and needing care that feels both safe and grounded.
It’s common to wonder, “Is this actually going to help me — or am I about to spend time, money, and emotional energy on something that doesn’t fit?”
Those aren’t cynical questions. They’re thoughtful ones. And they’re exactly the kinds of questions we respect here.
This is a place designed for moments — and questions — like that.
At PRCS, we work with individuals, couples, teens, and families facing a wide range of challenges. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, conflict, trauma, burnout, life changes, identity questions, or other emotional struggles, you are welcome here.

When conflict becomes a pattern, home can start to feel tense, unpredictable, or emotionally draining. No one wants to live in a cycle where the same arguments repeat, communication shuts down, or everyone feels misunderstood. These patterns don’t mean your family is broken—they mean the current strategies aren’t working anymore.
Research shows that evidence-based couple therapy consistently helps couples reduce relationship distress, improve communication patterns, and enhance overall relationship quality, supporting healthier relational functioning over time (Lebow & Snyder, 2022).:contentReference[oaicite:1]

Sometimes the hardest part of parenting is wondering if you’re getting it “right.” The truth is—struggle doesn’t mean failure. It means you're human, and you're showing up.
When a teen’s behavior changes, it often signals overwhelm—not defiance.
Understanding that difference is the first step toward healing the relationship.

Women often carry responsibilities, expectations, and emotional labor that go unseen by others. When stress builds, relationships strain, or life pulls you in too many directions at once, it can leave you feeling overwhelmed, lonely, or unsure where to turn.
At PRCS, we intentionally create a therapeutic atmosphere where women will have their experiences taken seriously — without minimization, pressure, or judgment.

Life transitions—expected or unexpected—can shake your sense of stability and raise questions about identity, purpose, and direction. Even positive changes can bring uncertainty or emotional strain. You don’t have to navigate these shifts alone. (Luhmann, M., Fassbender, I., Alcock, M., & Haehner, P. 2023 | Winner, K., & Levenson, R. W. 2015 | Holmes, T. H., & Rahe, R. H. 1967)

Living with a chronic illness affects far more than your physical health. Over time, it can shape your emotional world, your relationships, your sense of identity, and how you experience daily life. Balancing medical care, uncertainty, and the desire to live fully can be exhausting — especially when the condition does not resolve quickly or predictably.

Your faith — or your questions about faith — can be an important part of your healing journey. At PRCS, spiritual integration is always client-directed and never pushed. If you choose to include it, we help you explore your beliefs, values, and struggles in a way that aligns with your tradition, background, comfort level, and as always, is completely directed BY YOU.
Some clients want their faith to be woven actively into therapy. Others feel cautious, hurt, or unsure about how faith fits into their life now. Both experiences are valid. Our role is not to push a particular spiritual outcome, but to make room for the questions, values, and identities that matter to you.
Many people seek therapy not because they are losing their faith, but because they want space to understand it more deeply, reconnect with it in a healthier way, or heal from past spiritual pressures. You are not alone in wanting clarity, balance, or a renewed sense of connection. — (Exline, Pargament, Grubbs, & Yali, 2014; Captari, Hook, Hoyt, Davis, & Worthington, 2018)
Your beliefs and questions matter. Therapy honors the parts of your life that feel sacred, complicated, or deeply personal.

Therapy can support you as you:
At PRCS, we provide support for a wide range of emotional, relational, and life challenges.
Life’s challenges can show up in many different ways — in your thoughts, emotions, behaviors, relationships, and daily functioning. We walk alongside individuals, couples, children, teens, and families as they work toward stability, healing, and meaningful change.
Every person’s situation is unique, and therapy looks different for everyone. We’ll help you choose the type of support that fits your needs and goals.
We help adults and adolescents navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and major life stressors. Sessions focus on building insight, learning coping strategies, and moving toward emotional stability and resilience.
Couples therapy provides a structured space to improve communication, rebuild trust, and strengthen connection. We help partners break unhealthy patterns and move toward a healthier, more supportive relationship.
Family therapy focuses on improving communication, addressing conflict, and creating a more stable home environment. We support families through transitions, blended family challenges, and emotional or behavioral concerns.
“You don’t have to do this alone — therapy offers a space where healing becomes possible.”
We offer age-appropriate therapy that includes play, creative activities, and skill-building. The goal is to help children and teens express emotions, improve behavior, and strengthen relationships with caregivers.
Trauma therapy helps restore safety and stability while reducing the impact of traumatic memories and responses. We use trauma-informed approaches paced carefully to support empowerment and healing.
PRCS, LLC was created out of a deep commitment to walk alongside individuals, families, and communities when life feels overwhelming. We know there are seasons when the weight of grief, trauma, conflict, or change can make it hard to see a way forward. Our work exists to remind you that even in the darkest moments, healing and hope are still possible—and you do not have to search for them alone.
Our name was chosen in memory of our cousin, Phoenix, who at 23 reached a point of such deep pain that he ended his own life. His story is a constant reminder of how crucial it is to have safe, steady support before things feel unbearable. “Phoenix Rising” reflects both our grief and our commitment: to honor his life by helping others rise from hardship, rebuild after loss, and reclaim a sense of meaning, strength, and dignity.
We provide therapy for individuals, couples, families, and groups, and we also offer consultation, supervision, education, parenting classes, and assessments. Our approach is trauma-informed, culturally respectful, and paced to match your needs. Together, we work to understand what you are facing, identify what matters most to you, and create a path toward greater stability, connection, and peace.

It is the mission of PRCS to provide quality behavioral and mental health services and to work alongside individuals and families to promote safety, stability, and unity within their family, social, and community systems. We strive to empower individuals to develop the skills and resources needed to overcome life’s challenges through evidence-based interventions specific to their needs.
It is the vision of PRCS to remain a company that leads with integrity. We are focused on building long term alliances and working collaboratively with the communities we serve. It is the goal of PRCS to provide a positive and measurable impact within our service community and to be a catalyst for change.
PRCS values and respects each individual served. We understand that individuals come to us seeking help related to life’s many challenges. We work to meet each individual where they are, to help restore hope in their time of need, and to help them find their light in the darkness. PRCS stands on the following values:
20+ years of combined clinical experience, grounded in compassion, cultural awareness, and evidence-based practice.
At PRCS, our clinicians bring deep experience, genuine compassion, and a shared commitment to helping individuals and families heal, grow, and find hope. This page introduces the people who will walk alongside you on your journey toward stability and meaningful change.
If your concerns don’t fit neatly into the categories below, that’s okay — many people begin therapy with questions rather than labels.

“My goal is to meet you exactly where you are so healing can begin safely and naturally.”

Aundretta’s approach is deeply relational and grounded in trust. Clients often describe feeling genuinely accepted, understood, and safe with her — especially those navigating life transitions or healing from trauma. Drawing on both extensive professional experience and lived perspective, she brings empathy, steadiness, and a strong focus on helping clients move through difficult seasons with skills they can carry forward long-term.

Identity
Patrick is a Licensed Professional Counselor and co-owner of PRCS. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Auburn University and his Master’s Degree in Counseling from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and brings over two decades of experience in community-based therapy, residential treatment, clinical supervision, and program leadership.
People often come to me for:
Style
Patrick’s work is structured, transparent, and grounded in ethics. He uses evidence-based methods and explains the purpose behind what you’re doing together, so therapy feels intentional rather than abstract. Clients appreciate his honesty, clarity, and steady focus on practical change — alongside a human, often humorous presence that keeps the work real. He approaches clients with respect, seeing them not as broken, but as capable people working to reconnect with their own strengths. Many clients come into therapy fearing they’re “crazy,” and often hear Patrick respond plainly and directly that what they’re experiencing makes perfect sense given what they’ve lived through.
Faith integration is always optional and entirely client-directed.

Phoenix Rising Counseling partners with Grow Therapy, a nationally recognized platform that handles all billing, insurance verification, and payment processing. This partnership ensures that every client receives accurate cost estimates before sessions begin.
Grow Therapy accepts 80+ insurance plans, including many commercial plans and Medicaid options. Their system verifies your benefits in real time so you know exactly what to expect.
When you book through Grow Therapy, the platform will:
Your actual cost depends on your specific plan, but Grow’s verification tool makes the numbers clear before you commit to scheduling.
Grow maintains the most accurate, up-to-date list of accepted insurance plans. You can find this information on each therapist’s Grow Therapy profile:

Insurance networks change periodically, so checking the Grow profile at the time of scheduling ensures accuracy.
Phoenix Rising Counseling also offers sliding scale options, depending on therapist availability and client eligibility.
All payments — insurance or self-pay — are processed securely through Grow Therapy.
Most insurance plans provide coverage only when therapy is related to an individual mental health diagnosis.
Because couples counseling often focuses on relationship dynamics rather than a diagnosable condition, some insurance plans may not cover couples sessions.
Grow Therapy will show your specific cost estimate during the booking process.
A Good Faith Estimate outlines:
A GFE is not a bill, and you can request one at any time.
Grow Therapy manages the GFE process and will provide documentation automatically when you book or upon request.
Your final cost depends on factors such as:
Grow Therapy provides cost estimates upfront and updates them as claims are processed. See the Grow Cost Estimator Tool
If you have questions about getting started or choosing a therapist, we’re here to guide you toward the right fit.
For specific questions about insurance, billing, cost estimates, or GFEs, please refer to your therapist’s Grow Therapy profile or contact Grow Therapy directly. They manage the full billing and insurance process for all PRCS sessions.
